TERMS & CONDITIONS AND WEATHER POLICY
By placing a booking with Deano’s Bouncy Castle Hire, the hirer agrees to the following Terms & Conditions and Weather Policy.
SECTION 1 – TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Responsibility for Equipment
Once the equipment has been delivered, installed and inspected by our staff, responsibility for its safe use passes to the hirer until collection.
The hirer is responsible for ensuring that all users comply with these Terms & Conditions and that the equipment is supervised at all times.
2. Supervision
A responsible adult aged 18 years or over must supervise the inflatable at all times whilst in use.
Most inflatables supplied by Deano’s Bouncy Castle Hire are designed for children only and must not be used by adults.
Where an inflatable is specifically advertised as suitable for adults, both adults and children may use it. However, adults and children must not use the inflatable at the same time and separate sessions should be organised where appropriate.
The supervisor must ensure that:
- Users behave safely at all times.
- The entrance and exit area remain clear.
- Users are grouped according to age and size where practical.
- Larger users do not use the inflatable at the same time as smaller children.
- The maximum number of users permitted on the inflatable must not be exceeded. User limits are clearly displayed on the inflatable and are determined by the size, design and manufacturer specifications of the equipment. These limits must be adhered to at all times.
3. Safe Use
The following are strictly prohibited on any inflatable:
- Shoes.
- Sharp objects.
- Food, drinks or chewing gum.
- Cigarettes, vapes or naked flames.
- Face paints are prohibited unless declared at the time of booking and covered by a valid Face Paint Damage Waiver.
- Glitter, coloured streamers, party poppers, confetti cannons, coloured powder products and silly string are strictly prohibited at all times.
- Climbing, hanging or sitting on walls, netting or roof sections.
- The entrance step is designed to assist users entering and exiting the inflatable and must not be used for bouncing, sitting, climbing or playing.
- Users must not climb, sit or hang on the inflatable walls, netting or roof sections.
- Wrestling, rough play or somersaults.
- Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Any damage or excessive cleaning resulting from prohibited items may be charged to the hirer.
4. Equipment Failure
In the unlikely event that the inflatable loses pressure or fails:
- All users must leave the inflatable immediately.
- Check that the blower remains switched on.
- Check that the blower tube remains securely attached.
- Ensure the blower air intake is unobstructed.
- Contact Deano’s Bouncy Castle Hire immediately if the issue cannot be resolved.
Under no circumstances should users continue using a partially inflated inflatable.
5. Security of Equipment
The hirer must not:
- Move the inflatable.
- Tamper with anchoring points.
- Switch the blower off whilst the inflatable is in use.
- Allow any unauthorised person to dismantle or remove the equipment.
Only Deano’s Bouncy Castle Hire staff are authorised to collect equipment.
If anyone other than our staff attempts to collect equipment, the hirer must contact us immediately.
6. Damage, Loss and Cleaning
The hirer is responsible for any loss, theft or damage to the equipment occurring during the hire period, other than reasonable wear and tear.
Where equipment is returned excessively dirty, damaged, vandalised, stolen or requiring specialist cleaning, repair or replacement, the associated costs may be charged to the hirer.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Inflatables.
- Blowers.
- Mats.
- Extension leads.
- Stakes and anchoring equipment.
Face Paint Damage Waiver
Face paints are strictly prohibited on or around any inflatable unless this has been declared at the time of booking and the applicable Face Paint Damage Waiver has been purchased.
The Face Paint Damage Waiver must be purchased at the time of booking and cannot be added retrospectively.
If face paints are found to have been used without a valid Face Paint Damage Waiver, the hirer will be in breach of these Terms and Conditions and may be held liable for any associated cleaning, repair, replacement panel, loss of hire income or replacement equipment costs arising from the damage.
Glitter, coloured streamers, party poppers, confetti cannons, coloured powder products and silly string are not covered under any damage waiver and are strictly prohibited at all times. Any cleaning, repair, replacement or loss of hire costs arising from their use may be charged to the hirer.
7. Access and Setup Requirements
The hirer is responsible for ensuring:
- Adequate space is available for the chosen equipment.
- Suitable access exists for delivery and installation.
- The setup area is clear of obstacles, hazards and animal waste.
- Any measurements provided during booking are accurate.
If installation cannot proceed due to insufficient space, restricted access, unsuitable ground conditions or incorrect information supplied by the hirer, the booking fee will remain non-refundable.
Outdoor inflatables require suitable ground conditions to allow them to be anchored safely.
Grass is the preferred setup surface. Artificial grass may be suitable where anchoring stakes can be safely installed through the surface and written permission has been provided by the property owner or person responsible for the premises.
By requesting installation on artificial grass, the hirer acknowledges and accepts that anchoring stakes must penetrate the artificial surface and any underlying membrane or material in order to secure the inflatable safely.
Deano’s Bouncy Castle Hire accepts no responsibility or liability for any damage, marks, holes, tears, movement, lifting, separation, subsidence or other defects caused to the artificial grass, underlying surface or associated materials, whether such damage becomes apparent immediately or at a later date.
We do not install outdoor inflatables on concrete, tarmac, paving or any other surface where suitable anchoring cannot be achieved safely.
We only supply equipment to private gardens and approved private venues.
We do not install equipment in communal gardens, communal outdoor spaces or shared access areas.
It is the hirer’s responsibility to provide accurate information regarding the setup location. If we are unable to proceed with the installation because the setup location is found to be a communal or shared area that was not disclosed at the time of booking, the booking fee will remain non-refundable.
The hirer is responsible for ensuring that all pet waste is removed from the setup area prior to delivery.
8. Collection of Equipment
Equipment remains the property of Deano’s Bouncy Castle Hire at all times.
The hirer must ensure reasonable access for collection at the agreed time.
Should collection be prevented due to lack of access, Deano’s Bouncy Castle Hire reserves the right to enter the agreed collection area for the purpose of recovering its equipment.
9. Payment Terms
A booking is not confirmed until the required booking fee has been received.
The remaining balance is payable upon delivery and setup unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Payment of the remaining balance may be made by cash or any other payment method accepted by Deano’s Bouncy Castle Hire.
Failure to pay the balance may result in the booking being cancelled and the equipment not being installed.
10. Limitation of Liability
Deano’s Bouncy Castle Hire shall not be liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from misuse of the equipment, failure to follow these Terms & Conditions, inadequate supervision or any unauthorised modification of the equipment.
Nothing within these Terms and Conditions excludes liability where such exclusion is prohibited by law.
SECTION 2 – WEATHER POLICY
11. Safe Operating Conditions
The safety of our customers, their guests and our staff is our highest priority.
In accordance with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance, BS EN 14960 standards and the requirements of our insurance, inflatable equipment must not be operated in wind speeds, including gusts, exceeding 24mph (38km/h).
We are also unable to set up or operate inflatables during periods of heavy rain or prolonged rainfall where the inflatable may become wet and unsafe to use.
For these reasons, Deano’s Bouncy Castle Hire will not install or allow the use of inflatable equipment when:
- Wind speeds or gusts are forecast to exceed 24mph.
- Heavy or prolonged rainfall is forecast or occurring.
- Ground conditions are unsuitable or unsafe.
- Any other weather conditions are deemed unsafe by our trained staff.
These restrictions are in place to protect the safety of users, prevent damage to equipment and ensure compliance with current safety standards and insurance requirements.
12. Weather Monitoring
Weather forecasts can change quickly and are often inaccurate several days in advance. We therefore monitor forecasts closely and make decisions based on the latest available information.
All weather-related decisions made by Deano’s Bouncy Castle Hire will be based on the latest forecast information available from the UK Met Office for the hire location. Whilst other weather services and apps may provide different forecasts, the Met Office forecast will be used as the sole reference when determining whether conditions are safe and suitable for the installation and operation of our equipment.
13. Weather-Related Cancellations
If poor weather is forecast and you wish to cancel your booking, we ask that you notify us by 6:00pm on the day before your booking.
Where a weather cancellation is requested before 6:00pm on the day before the hire, you may choose to:
- Transfer your booking to another available date within 12 months, subject to availability; or
- Receive a refund of the booking fee paid.
Deano’s Bouncy Castle Hire reserves the right to cancel any outdoor booking where weather conditions are forecast to make the hire unsafe, impractical or likely to result in damage to equipment.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Wind speeds or gusts exceeding 24mph.
- Heavy rainfall.
- Prolonged periods of rain.
- Waterlogged or unsuitable ground conditions.
Where Deano’s Bouncy Castle Hire cancels a booking due to adverse weather, customers will be offered the option to transfer their booking to another available date within 12 months, subject to availability, or receive a refund of the booking fee paid.
The final decision regarding whether weather conditions are safe and suitable for the installation, operation and continued use of inflatable equipment rests solely with Deano’s Bouncy Castle Hire and will be based on the latest available Met Office forecast and on-site conditions.
14. Alternative Options
Where possible, we will work with customers to find a suitable alternative, including:
- Moving the booking to another available date.
- Relocating the booking to a suitable indoor venue.
- Substituting equipment where appropriate.
15. Customer Cancellations
If you cancel your booking for any reason other than adverse weather, the booking fee is non-refundable.
However, the booking fee may be transferred to a new booking made by the same customer within 12 months of the original booking date, subject to availability.
Transferred bookings are non-refundable, non-transferable to another customer and may only be transferred once.
16. Acceptance
The person making the booking confirms that they are aged 18 years or over and have the authority to accept these Terms & Conditions and Weather Policy on behalf of all users of the equipment.
By placing a booking with Deano’s Bouncy Castle Hire, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions and Weather Policy.
